In Memory of a friend

My heart aches today as my friends family laid her to rest.
She has returned back to her Heavenly Father, where she is clean and perfect once again.
I was blessed that I was able to attend her funeral.
I hate funeral.
I hate death.
I hate crying.
I hate that her life was over so soon.
Ashlee is the type of girl that you can't forget and can't help but like!
She was always sweet, funny, stubborn, and a good friend.

I have known Ashlee for just over two years. We worked together in two different care centers.
Nothing brings you closer than wiping old bums!
Just a few days before her passing, our little group of girlfriend decided to sign up for " Color Me Rad!" A 5k in September. We decided that day to be called the Butt Wipers ... because thats how we met each other!
Now we are "The Butt Wipers...In Memory of Ashlee Nelson"

Today, Ashlee's family laid her to rest. The services were beautiful. I thought all the stories and talks were a perfect way to describe Ashlee. She really was a fun person.
I know that her family will see here again some day and that brings them great peace.
I know that Ashlee is in a better place and pain free.
I know that she is perfect and whole again.
I know she is happy.
You could feel her spirit today.
You could feel her laughing with us.
You could feel her crying with us.
It still seems unreal.

Part of me feels that going back to work for those 3 months was so I could see you again and have those memories.
You were great with the residents. I loved working with you..
You always made it easier.
I always thought it was so sweet that you would play Bingo with the residents on Saturdays.

My prayers go out to her family. My heart aches every day for her little Braxton. May you forever watch over him.
I will miss you Ashlee.

Lately...

Lately,
days have been a little longer than normal.
Lately,
Miss Lexi has been crying..a lot
Lately,
you have no interest in having your diaper changed or being dressed
Lately,
you have been driving me crazy...

But then of course, there are the moments when you are happy as can be
Until I look at you the wrong way or do something else.
Then we are back where we started.
I guess that's just parenthood
I sure do love you, Little Miss Lexi

( I really don't know what has gotten in to her these past few days. I really think something is bothering her because she is never like this. Her new scream/cry is so sad..and slightly annoying. She has been waking up at about 3 every night and won't go back to sleep unless she is snuggled up with us. She won't go down for naps very easy anymore..but mostly because she crawls around in her crib. She has been a little sick the past few days...so lets hope she gets better and we don't have to make a trip in to the doctor!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROC! (March 30)
A few weeks late, but better late than never.
For Broc's Birth I surprised him with Utah Jazz tickets! We love the Jazz!
His birthday was on a Saturday, so Friday morning we drove up. We did a little shopping in Provo and napped at the hotel.
Saturday we headed to the zoo to kill a few hours. Lexi was really good! We love the zoo.
Then we headed to Broc's aunts house where they were having a little Easter party. She was also watching Lexi for us..so a huge thanks! We love them and I know Lexi had a blast!
We were off to the game! We left about 4..and go to City Creek about 4:30..4:45 ish. The game wasn't until 7. We wanted to hit up Cheesecake Factory for a good dinner before the game.
Well...we totally forgot that it was The Relief Society Broadcast..and if you know City Creek, it is straight across from Temple Square.
The wait was 45 min! We were totally bumbed! We headed over the area where the game was and ended up having Mcdonalds and Pizza..
TOTAL BUMMER! But as long as we were going to the game..we were okay!
Jazz WON! It was really fun. I am so glad we went.  We headed back to ST. George on Easter Sunday and spent the day with Broc's family.
It was a nice little mini vaca! Thanks babe!

At the Zoo and Game

Dear Birthday Boy,
You say you don't read my blog because you already know whats going on in our life.
Well, this post is for you! I love you very much! I am so thankful for all that you do.
I hope you had a great birthday and thanks for spending it with me.
You are amazing, kind, patient, funny, and very handsome.
I just want to keep saying all these "mushy" things about you, but people won't read our blog anymore!
So I will end!

Here is a cute one of my little family.
We didn't get "great" ones of us, but we are getting family photos done in a few weeks!
