Since there is no February 30, today is as good as any to post an update about my little lady. At the end (or start) of the Month, she will be a year and a half old! 18 months! She will be closer to two years old than one! She is growing up!
Lexi sure has changed in the last few months. Looking back it's hard to even remember what she was like at a year! She has been walking for over 6 months!
Lexi Loves:
-Tito
Every time we walk in the door she bolts out of my arms and says "Tito!" and runs to play with him while he attacks her with kisses.
She also knows the first thing we do in the morning is let Tito out to go potty. She still insist on going out on the patio with him even though I tell her its freezing cold. She usually runs back inside.
She knows right after that it's time to give him his treat. She hardly sticks it in her mouth anymore. She knows to throw it on the ground and he will go get it.
-Morning Cartoons
Usually when Lexi wakes up Broc is still getting ready for work and I am buried under the covers. She ends up on our bed and begs for me to turn the TV on. I usually (always) do this just to get more sleep. She watches one show and then we go down stairs and play, eat, and sometimes more cartoons. Her favorite is Dora and Bubble Guppies. She has started to actually have the attention span for a movie. She will watch, play, watch, and play. She is started to like Mickey Mouse too.
-Necklaces/Bracelets
If I go to a store, I can not take her near jewelry with out her throwing a fit or me buying her a necklace. She loves them. She will play with her necklaces and bracelets all day. No joke. She will take her babies out of her stroller and push her jewelry around. She knows they make her feel pretty. She doesn't like to share these. It's kind of cute though. She sat through most of Sacerment meeting (for like the first time ever) and just played with them. I have no problem taking them each week! Every time we go to Grandma's house she runs back to grandma's room and yells "mamamamama" until someone gets her a necklaces off Broc's moms wall.
-Baths
Lexi usually gets a bath every day because she loves it! If you say the word bath you better be prepared to give her one. She usually gets one in the morning. When I say, "Lexi do you want to take a bath?"
She will drop everything (even the necklaces) and run to the bathtub. She has just now started to try and take off her clothes. She loves to watch the water run and play in it. She likes to lay on her tummy and drink the water. (Ew)
We are getting better at brushing her teeth after her bath, but no one is perfect. She just isn't a fan.
-Shoes
This kid has a major shoe obsession. She has about 4 pair of shoes.
Tennis Shoes, sandals, and 2 pair of church shoes.
She loves getting her shoes on when we are ready to leave. She will dig through the shoe basket by the door and find her shoes. Anytime you want to try new shoes on her, she is okay with that. She rips her current shoes off and yells mom until you put the new ones on. If she finds her shoes in her room while she is playing she begs you to put them on her. She has recently started to wear our shoes around the house. It's adorable, but they are getting scattered everywhere.
We also have a shoe rack in our closet and she is constantly messing that up... Oh well. It's adorable.

-Being outside
-Play with Chloe and Madden
-Playing with Grandma and Grandpa
-Play with daddy
-Going to the park
This kid loves to eat. I am so thankful that she is a good eater. I don't have to fight her to eat. She loves to eat:
-Mac and Cheese
-String Cheese
-Fruit
-Green beans
-Fruit Snacks
-Cheese It's (her favorite)
M&Ms and Reese Cups
Here is Lexi Lou eating Mac and Cheese for lunch. I threw in a couple M&Ms as a snack because this was her second plate. She loves having a Capri Sun with her lunch.
Lexi is starting to talk so much! Of course not a lot of it is clear, but she is trying to communicate.
We took the binky away this past week. Honestly, it wasn't that hard. I thought it was going to be very hard. I was going to do it one night but I was having major anxiety about it for some reason. I don't think I was ready. It makes her my baby. She loves her binky. So the next day I felt ready. She only had it at sleep time anyway. So I just didn't give it to her. When I put her down for a nap she cried for about 1 minute and then she was out. I made sure to put her down for a later nap so I knew she was tired. Same with bed time. It's been about 1 week and it's been good. We bought her a little stuffed animal for being such a big/good girl about it.
Anyways, I have noticed more and more talking just in the last week with taking it away.
Here are some of her new and favorite words:
-Tito
-Mommy
-Daddy
-Sho (Shoe)
-Love you
-Bye
-Hi
-Nigh Nigh
-Ball
-Dora and Bub Gup
-Ba (Bath)
-No (she is starting to answer questions
- Yes (only heard it a few times)
-Meow (anytime she sees a cat)
-Eye
I can't think of anymore! She blabs and understand what I say really well, but hasn't quite figured out how to say it by her self.
Lexi knows the sounds to the following animals:
-Cat
-Lion
-Monkey
-Elephant
-Pig (although she will just smile when you ask her what a pig says because she likes when we make the sound)
She knows where her ears, eyes, nose, belly, and toes are.
Over all, I love my little lady. This has been the best stage ever. I look forward to her talking more and having a conversation with her. She is our world.
Yesterday she stole a drink of my coke and ran up to Broc and I and yelled "YUMMY!"
I was cracking up for at least 5 minutes.
I'm sure I missed a few things, but this was actually a big update!
Here are just some more photos.
It is so neat seeing her grow up. Great update, Ashley!
ReplyDeleteShe looks older! What happened? This was so fun to read. Especially since we don't get to see you much and also because it is fun seeing how she and Verity are so similar at nearly the same age! We also took Verity's binky away last week - she threw a bigger fit about it than Lexi. :) But is perfectly happy now to just talk herself to sleep. We too noticed a big jump in talking! Weird even though they only had the binky at bedtime... Anyway, I'm blabbing! On YOUR blog. So, I'm out. Love you guys!
